Lole is king of the Two Castles in record time
Lole finished the 10k road race in a time of 32:05 with Medlaine Boardman of Cambridge and Coleridge AC the fastest woman and 58th past the line overall in 38:55.
Kenilworth Runners celebrated their 25th anniversary by entering 70 runners into the 4,000-strong field.

Hide AdRichard Simkiss came second in 32:50 having held off the challenge of Mark Greenwood of Nene Valley Harriers, who finished in 33:05.
Men’s captain Phil Gould took fifth place in 34:03 having caught up with Andrew Siggers (34:12) who came sixth .
Guy Allen (34:18) was the fastest Leamington C&AC member home, finishing seventh. while Mike Ellis of Spa Striders came 14th in 35:51.
Monica Williams was the fist woman to cross the line for Leamington C&AC, finishing 74th., while Rebecca Smith (46:48) was the first female Kenilworth Runner home.

Hide AdLeamington C&AC athletes consolidated their fourth place in The Midland Counties Track & Field Senior League Division 5 at the second round match held at Newport Athletics Stadium
With just six female athletes taking part, the women’s team did an amazing job to fill 35 events and still perform well in their own specialisms.
Newcomer Amber Bayliss, powered her way to finish second in the 100m A race in a personal best (PB) time of 12.6 sec.
Bayliss also competed in the 200m A (5th), Triple Jump A (4th), Shot Putt B (5th) and the sprint relay.

Hide AdStephanie Childs and Emma Day proved their talent with a double victory in the 400m hurdles A and B races respectively.
Day set a PB 72.4 sec.
Their gruelling day consisted of long jump A (3rd), 100m hurdles A (5th), 400m A (5th), discus A (4th), sprint relay and the 4 x 400m relay for Stephanie and 800m A (2nd), 1,500m A (3rd), high jump (5th), shot putt (6th) and both relays for Emma.
Zara Blower and Faye Barr produced quality distance running in the 3000m race both gaining 2nd places as the A & B competitors .
Blower’s time of 11min 5.7sec was a PB.
Blower’s other six events were 400m B (5th), 800m B (4th), discus B (4th), Javelin B (6th) and both relay races.

Hide AdBarr produced a personal best in her javelin throw (13.41m) and gained third place in the B 1,500m.
She also filled the Long Jump B (6th) and the 4x400m relay team which finished third in a time of 4min 32.2secs.
At the 11th hour Leamington’s promising under-20s athlete Abigail Frodsham decided to bring her exam revision with her in order to support the team.
She came second in the pole vault A event with a jump of two metres, which was also a club record.

Hide AdAbbie gained valuable points in the triple jump B (3rd), 100m B (6th) and 200m B (6th)
Equally the men’s team produced performances to celebrate.
Darren Woodward broke his own club M35 record in the 400m B hurdles (69.9secs) to take second place.
He won the B 110m hurdles andcame fifth in the 1500m, long jump and hammer B events.
Glen Woodard, nursing an injury ,added to the points tally with solid performances in the field events - pole vault A (5th), shot putt A (6th), discus A (6th) Hammer A (6th) and javelin B (4th).

Hide AdJames Harris set a new personal best of 19.8secs in the 110m hurdles A race (4th) and came third in the 400m hurdles A and 5th in the 200m B race.
The 3,000m steeplechase produced excellent Leamington performances with Jamie Langley achieving a PB (10mins 38.1secs) for second place in the A event & Phil McCorquadale winning the B race. Harris also came third place in the Triple Jump B while McCorquadale achieved his PB (10.31m) in the triple jump A (4th) & came 6th in the 1,500m A race.
Callum Hanlon’s 800m A race (2min 5.2sec) was a fractional PB for third place and he gained additional team points in the 3,000m A (3rd) and the 400m B (4th) .
Jack Mee won the 3,000m B race.
The high jump event was another highlight for Leamington athletes with Joshua Guest coming second (1.90 metres) and Nick Frodsham gaining 2nd place B.
Guest also came fourth in the 100m B.

Hide AdSprinter Nick Frodsham, not yet back in form after a year out of athletics gained valuable points in the 100m A (4th) and the 200m A (4th). Joe Houston ran the 400m A race in 52.2secs for 5th place and veteran Tony Foster looked comfortable against younger athletes in the 800m B (6th), Shot Putt B (5th), Discus B (5th) & Javelin A (6th).
