Mayhew is team player

Kenilworth’s Nadine Mayhew was part of the Cult Racing ladies’ cycling team that won the national time trial team title.

The series consisted of eight races during the season with individuals’ five best races counting towards their final points total.

The final race of the series was held near Middleton in Leicestershire with competitors racing over 18.7 miles on a quiet country road circuit.

Mayhew produced a good ride to finish fifth to secure the bronze medal in the ladies’ veteran’s category, with teammates Michelle King and Jane Kilmartin finishing first and second respectively to wrap up the team prize.

The result caps a successful season for Mayhew, who has also won the Midlands women’s TT series, the Welsh National 50-mile TT championship and finished runner-up in the Blenheim Palace time trial.
