Muay Thai fighter Coyle is crowned junior champion

Warwick’s Macauley Coyle was crowned the new ISKA Junior English title holder after a quickfire stoppage at a packed Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford.

Coyle delivered a powerful round-house kick to opponent Kieron Jessop’s ribs to force the referee to stop the fight just 45 seconds in.

It was only Coyle’s fourth Muay Thai bout, but the 15-year-old has been training in martial arts since the age of five, becoming a black belt at 12.

Coyle trains out of the renowned TMA gym in Coventry and dad Steve sa ys a considerable amount of time and effort have been invested into his development.

Only recently, the duo spent three weeks together in Phuket, Thailand at the Sinbi Muay Thai gym where Macauley underwent five hours intensive training every day.

Steve said: “If it’s what Macauley wants to do then I’m right behind him and no amount of time or money is too much, especially when he’s progressing so rapidly.”

Coyle’s next fight will be at the Tower Ballroom, Edgbaston, Birmingham on September 24.

Tickets, priced £25, can be bought directly from him by calling 07740 18150.
