The men’s handicap went to Peter Hooper who saw off Luke Edwards 21-16, while Tony Kent overcame Richard Muir 21-7 to claim the men’s novice singles.

The Smith family dominated the ladies’ competitions, with Lisa Smith beating her mother Yvonne Pick 21-7 to lift the singles title.

Lisa’s 13-year-old daughter Hannah beat Glynnis Griffiths 21-15 to win the handicap singles. However, she found her mother too strong in the two-wood singles, losing 18-5.

Selected other results: Mixed Pairs: Yvonne Pick & John Hughes beat Terry Taylor & Phil Wadland 22-16. Jubilee two-wood singles: Nicky Walker beat Bill Port 14-9.

Royal Leamington Spa’s men finished their 2015 friendly programme with a 16-shot victory over Three Spires.

Spa’s best rink was skipped by Jim Tighe, who together with Alan Taylor, Colin Palmer and Graham White ran out comfortable 24-12 winners.

Elsewhere, though, it required a strong finish from skip Bill Griffin, who recorded 15 unanswered shots over the last six ends to turn an eight-shot deficit into a 27-20 victory.

However, the biggest turnaround came courtesy of Mike Wallace. Trailing 12-1 after eight ends, Wallace’s foursome won ten of the next 13 ends to finish 24-17 winners.

Dick Williams won 23-21, while Dick Allibon went down 22-21 and Ray White lost 25-14.
