Table-topping Nelson receive trophy

SNOOKER and billiards players from the Leamington & District leagues were presented with trophys to mark their achievements for this season.

The awards night took place at Cubbington Sports and Social Club this month.

Premier Division Winners Nelson 1st were among those recognised on the night.

James Gilard, of Nelson 1st, picked up the award for the highest break (83) while priors 1st received the runners up trophy.

Bishops Tachrook received their prize for winning the A division, while Frames 3rds picked up the Stan Ward Handicap Cup Trophy.

Phil Parkin was the EJ Riley Individual Singles winner while Ian Wagstaff and Glen Powell of Kenilworth Cons were presented with the Pairs Cup which the won in the final against Kevin Robinson and Mark Smith.

Billiards League and Morris Trophy winners Lillington were awarded as was Geoff Barrett, of Lillington Bowls, for his highest break of 80 and for winning the Birmingham Mail Cup.
