The London Olympics may now be a distant memory, but that has not stopped our sporting stars creating their very own sporting legacies in the heart of Warwickshire.

Some like Sue Harrison, Sarah-Jane Perry and Jordan King are already familiar to the judging panel and are sure to feature prominently again this year.

However, new faces have emerged to threaten their dominance, with runner Chris McCarthy and triathlete Richard Shephard enjoying stellar years and Kenilworth Wardens CC sweeping all before them.

On the junior front, Megan McDonald will face stiff competition from a whole host of talented youngsters, with golf, athletics and table tennis providing some strong candidates.

And following on from last year’s success for the Leamington parkrun organisers, we are again looking for your nominations for the district’s unsung heroes.

Nominations of no more than 150 words outlining the achievements of the individual or team are invited in the nine categories listed below.

Nominations should be marked “Sports Awards” and include the category for which the person is being put forward, along with your name, address and phone number.

Nominations can be sent or hand delivered to the
Courier offices at 32 Hamilton Terrace, Leamington,
CV32 4LY or emailed to [email protected]

Nominees must live, go to school or play for a club in the district and all entries must be received by Friday December 6.

With your help we will draw up a shortlist, with the winners being revealed at a ceremony at the Spa Centre on Friday January 17, 2014.
