Warwick left looking over their shoulders

Warwick’s men went down to two defeats over the weekend to leave them embroiled in a relegation struggle in Midlands Division One.

An out-of-sorts Warwick never really got going against a well-organised Streetly team, crashing to a 4-0 defeat to hand their rivals a relegation lifeline.

The hosts’ first goal came from a counter attack against the run of play and after James Barrett hit the bar their second goal effectively killed the contest.

Warwick then went down 3-2 at Burton despite playing some excellent hockey and dominating large periods of the game.

Rob Pomfrett hit the post before Burton went ahead with a drag-flick.

The visitors equalised through Neil McLester but a second drag-flick restored Burton’s advantage.

James Barrett won a penalty flick which was converted by David Bryce to bring it back to 2-2, but Warwick were unable to respond after Burton fashioned a third.
