Warwick used the wet and windy conditions to their advantage, taking a 10-8 interval lead courtesy of tries from Nick David and James Taylor-Watts.

Bromsgrove edged ahead with a penalty but Warwick grabbed the all-important try through Jordan Ainslie, who shrugged off several defenders to touch down with a Chris Ashton swallow dive.

William Stride’s conversion put Warwick 17-11 to the good and despite Bromsgrove scoring a further try, they missed the crucial conversion.

After losing 59-5 to Bromsgrove earlier in the season, Warwick coach Tom Pierce attributed the improvement to “very determined players who have improved and improved”.
