The 12-strong squad started scrappily with a 1-0 defeat to hosts Redditch before holding Pershore to a 1-1 draw through a well deserved try from Lorna Wale.

A 4-0 thrashing from tournament winners Bromyard did not affect morale and Wellesbourne bounced back with a 3-0 win over Ross-on-Wye with tries from Natalie Powers, Claire Davis and Catriona Rollason.

A loss against Camp Hill steeled the girls for their match against Droitwich which resulted in a 1-1 draw thanks to another try from Wale.

The ladies, who are now eight points clear of fourth placed Stratford, next travel to the Droitwich tournament on April 7.
