Win bonus for Harrison on her return to road racing

Taking part in her first race since August, the Great Britain veteran showed the benefit of a steady 14-week block of training with a time of 40min 14sec for the two-lap 10k race, finishing first female and 17th overall.

“It was so cold out there, particularly running alongside the 2k rowing course where the wind seemed to pick up an extra chill from the water,” said Harrison.

“However, I am delighted with my time which was more than 90 seconds faster than I had hoped for.

“To start my 2015 season with a win is an added bonus.”

Windsor athlete Gary McNamara won the men’s race in 35.20.
