The evening will feature music by three great names from the baroque period – Telemann, who provides a Trumpet Concerto, Bach, a trio sonata and the famous cantata Jauchzet Gott and Handel, his cantata La Lucrezia, a trio sonata and to end the programme, the well known aria Let the Bright Seraphim from his oratorio Samson.

The event is the last of a season of early music concerts organised by Leamington Music. Festival director Richard Phillips said: “All the visiting musicians have said how much they like performing in St Mary’s Church. The nave had to be rebuilt after the Fire of Warwick in 1694 and was completed by 1705. That means that much of this programme is contemporary with the building and it may explain why this baroque music feels so right in that setting.”
