Education takes centre stage at Leamington theatre

THE Loft Theatre’s stage will be transformed into a 1980s Yorkshire schoolroom this week as the company bring Alan Bennett’s The History Boys to Leamington audiences.

The Olivier Award-winning comedy follows the journey of ‘boys’ Posner, Dakin, Timms, Lockwood, Rudge, Akthar, Scripps and Crowther in their quest for sex, knowledge and a place to read history at Oxbridge.

The play is being directed by the Loft’s Steve Smith, who is expecting audiences members to discover elements of their own past teachers.
