Family fun, theatre, comedy and music live in Leamington

A stage adaptation of Oliver Jeffers’ children’s book Stuck is coming to the stage next month, closely followed by Tick-Tock Time Machine, starring Andy Day from CBeebies’ Wild Adventures.

Nursery rhymes will be brought to life in magical show Hey Diddle Diddle and the Chinese State Circus is returning with more breathtaking acrobatic feats and extravagant costumes.

Later in the season the high energy production of High School Rocks will have Glee fans of all ages tapping their feet and in June, the stars from Channel 5 show Milkshake! will get together to create a new musical.

Boys Vs Girls – The Ultimate Challenge!, a new live game show where young audience members will join Anna Williamson and Jamie Rickers from Nickelodeons’ ‘ Camp Orange’ on stage for custard-pie filled adventure.

Also for families at the venue will be shows of children’s stories Pinocchio and The Elephant Bridesmaid.

Adults can continue to enjoy touring professional theatre at the Spa Centre, starting with A Midsummer Night’s Dream by the London-based Custom Practice in February and Kirsty Housley’s new play Bandages comes to the stage in March.

Also performing this season are Blackeyed Theatre with their production of John Godber’s fast moving comedy Teechers, and Toyah Wilcox, who will star in Hormonal Housewives, a comedy evening of sketches covering what makes women tick - or ticked off.

In May, the studio will showcase acts from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, past and present, including sketch troupes Clever Peter and The Boom Jennies and Rich Peppiatt and film noir anti-hero BANE.

Eighties pop legnets T’Pau, the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain, The Blues Band, jazz composer Kyle Eastwood - son of Clint, international artist Stacy Kent and world-renouned jazz singer Dennis Locorierre are among the musical offerings this season, while also performing will be the Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, the Glenn Miller Orchestra and Grimethorpe Colliery Band.

Fans of folk music can choose from Fairport Convention, Steve Knightly, Martin Simpson Edwina Hayes, Henry Priestman and Iain Matthews, while other entertainers to look forward to will include psychic Sally Morgan, wildlife experts Bill Oddie and Stephen Moss and Chris Packham, comedian Ken Dodd, the Circus of Horrors and The Ladyboys of Bangkok.
