I am the Community Reporter assigned to the Yorkshire Evening Post as part of the Community News Partnership between Meta, the NCTJ and local newsrooms.
I have spent my whole life in Leeds and joined the team in the last quarter of 2022 after graduating in BSc Psychology with First Class Honours. I cover important stories from underrepresented communities with a real focus on giving the people of the city a platform and voice - whether it’s a woman fighting to end female genital mutilation or independent businesses campaigning to save their homes.
Following a personal interest in lifestyle in Leeds, I love covering the openings of restaurants, bars and clubs and writing about the businesses that are putting the city on the map. I also dive into the lives of people in Leeds who have unique roles - including a private chef who has cooked for Leeds United players, a boudoir photographer who is empowering women with her camera and a naked butler serving bottomless brunches at a Leeds bar.
Outside of work, you will still hear me shout about how much I love Leeds. I am also a lover of Asian cuisine and coffee, ice hockey and the New Jersey Devils, travel and train rides, as well as slice-of-life books, films and TV shows. Mental health and disability awareness are also very important to me.
