Businesses invited to raise concerns about future of Rugby town centre

Businesses are invited to share concerns about the future of Rugby town centre.

Angela McDonnell has organised a meeting at Rugby Hotel, in Sheep Street, on Wednesday, September 2.

She said: “People will be given the chance to speak directly to councillors about the state of Rugby town centre - no consultants, no workshops, no filtered feedback.

"There will be a chance to speak face-to-face with a current Rugby borough councillor, a former Rugby borough councillor and a Warwickshire county councillor. They want to hear what is actually happening on the ground and will take it straight back.”

Angela, who used to own Jean’s Flowers in the town centre, said some of the issues raised may include footfall, parking, enforcement, illegal trading, empty units, business rates, cleaning, safety and the future of the town centre.

She said: "With changes coming next year, town centre businesses need to be in the room. If you don’t say it now, it may not get said.”
