Kenilworth carpenter secures place in national final
A hard-working carpenter from Kenilworth has secured a place in the national final of Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2026.
Gavin Tutton will go head-to-head with nine other tradespeople from across the UK and Ireland at the final later this month, competing for a prize bundle worth £20,000.
After 23 years mastering his craft across Warwickshire, Gavin impressed the judges at the semi-final stage when he spoke of his passion for the trade and daily commitment to going above and beyond for his customers.
After initially studying computing, Gavin began a four-year carpentry apprenticeship and has since developed skills across carpentry, kitchen fitting, plumbing, plastering and decorating.

The national final takes place at Screwfix Live on September 25, in front of a panel of industry experts. Each finalist will have the opportunity to showcase why they should be crowned Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2026.
Gavin said: “It’s such great recognition to have secured a place in the final of Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2026. It will be great to have the opportunity to share my story with the judges and meet the other finalists. I know I’m up against some talented tradespeople, but it’s great to be able to represent Kenilworth and the trade of carpentry.”
Jack Wallace, marketing director at Screwfix, said: “From hundreds of entries, we have identified our top 10, and each one of our finalists should feel incredibly proud of their achievement so far.
“Once again, the standard of entries has been exceptional this year, and the panel of judges will have a tough job picking a champion."
