Spooky Halloween house in Rugby will help raise money for life-saving charity

A Bilton mum is busy transforming her Freemantle Road home to give people a scare this Halloween.

Charlie Clark decorates her property and garden every year to help charity, with everything from witches and monsters to coffins, skeletons and light-up pumpkins.

Money collected from this year’s display will go to the Our Jay Foundation. The charity was set up after Rugby teenager Jamie Rees collapsed and later died after having a cardiac arrest in 2022.

It raises money to place defibrillators around Warwickshire and beyond.

She said: “I absolutely love doing it. It takes me ages but seeing everyone’s faces makes it worth it.”

Charlie will be collecting funds for Our Jay Foundation on October 31.

She went on: “I think the work they do is amazing and if just one defibrillator saves someone's life then imagine how many more lives could be saved by having more defibs out there.

"I have seen first hand the incredible work Our Jay Foundation does. The way they are constantly putting more and more life-saving equipment out there is great.

"You never know, one day one of those defibs could save you or someone you love’s life.”

Charlie is inviting people to make a donation – however small – in support of her decorations.

“The work they do is life changing and so special I just wanted to support them in my own way,” she went on.

“Please come visit us this year and make a donation – every penny helps.”

She is still busy putting up the final decorations for people to enjoy the devilishly good display on October 31 from 6pm.
