Poppy launch will start tomorrow

The Royal British Legion Leamington Spa branch will hold the 2011 poppy launch at 10.30am on Saturday, October 29 in the upper mall of the Royal Priors.

Guests at the event will be the mayor of Leamington, our local MP Mr Chris White, members of Warwick District Council and our guest of honour will be Dr Bill Maynard, better known as Greengrass in the TV series Heartbeat. Everyone is welcome to come and support this event.

This year’s Poppy Appeal is being run from a Poppy Shop situated at No 8 The Parade. The shop will be open after the launch until November 12 between 10am-4pm every day, so please call in as we will have a nice selection of poppy items for you to purchase.

The branch chairman Mr Vince Watson would like to thank Mr Bill Wareing of Wareing and company, Priory Carpets in Brunswick St and Wanzl on the Heathcote industrial estate who have sponsored the shop.
