Children who used the bus last Friday (November 13) made donations to the charity campaign and their donations where matched by parents and volunteers and then added to by founder Simon Storey and supporting company John Atkins Cycles to total £200.

Simon said: "I initially thought I might raise about £30 for children in need with my £3 per child that attended the bicycle bus on Friday, this was then matched by John Atkins cycles, then again by a parent Andrew Owen and bicycle bus volunteer Dawn Rahman, so we were potentially looking at somewhere near £120.

"In the end, we had eight children on the bus, but two other parents wanted to match the donation, Matt Hayden and new joiner Clair Rhead, so we were just under £150, John Atkins and myself then topped this up to a fantastic £200

"I was blown away by the generosity of the parents and John Atkins Cycles for such a worthy cause and it is good to know that a little acorn of an idea grew and inspired people to get out on their bikes and help Pudsey."
