“Enough is enough”: Council opposes plans to “yet more housing” in Burton Green
Burton Green Parish Council is opposing plans to build up to 100 new houses on Green Belt land in the village.
IM Land wants to build the houses on land east of Cromwell Lane.
But the parish council says Burton Green is already being surrounded by major housing developments, with hundreds of homes already being built at Westwood Park and more than 1,200 recently permitted around Balsall Common.
Councillors are particularly concerned about the cumulative impact on the junction between Cromwell Lane and Westwood Heath Road.

The council said: “While recognising the need for new housing, the council says ‘enough is enough’ with piecemeal development.
"With a further 4,000 homes proposed for Burton Green in COV1 in the South Warwickshire Local Plan, the council believes that development should be planned comprehensively, with the roads and infrastructure to support it, rather than through a succession of speculative applications.”
