"Given everything that is happening, it was agreed that we would be best placed to serve residents’ needs with councillors, committee chairs and members all remaining in their current posts.

"On a personal level, I very much look forward to taking the role of Mayor in July and will remain in support of Cllr Neale Murphy in my current role as Deputy Mayor as well as being the chair of the town council’s finance and policy committee."

Deputy Mayor Elect, Cllr Richard Edgington will also become Deputy Mayor of Warwick on July 30.

Warwick Town Council’s Annual Town Meeting, an opportunity for residents and businesses to hear from local community groups and organisations on their work within Warwick, has been rearranged for Wednesday October 21.
