Peppa and George help Leamington pub to raise £535 for charity
The canalside pub, formerly the Tiller Pin, was taking part in Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour, run by pub chain Stonegate, which has already exceeded its target of raising more than £100,000 for children’s charity Variety.
The company is taking a ‘passport’ to its pubs across the country - and on August 15, a replica Volvo touring car delivered it to the Waterside Inn. During the weekend of August 16 and 17 - which included face painting, a bouncy castle, owl show, car and scooter displays, Morris dancers and a quiz - £535 was raised for the cause. The pub’s deputy manager Caroline Goudie, who organised the events, said: “It was a great weekend.”
The tour will end with a party at Slug and Lettuce at Tower Bridge in London on September 26.
