Some of the world’s biggest stars in film are soon to arrive in London for the EE BAFTAs 2023. The ceremony will mark the 76th British Academy Film Awards which aim to celebrate best films to be screened at British cinemas in 2022.

Anti-war epic All Quiet on the Western Front scored the most nominations with 14. Meanwhile, Martin McDonagh’s black comedy The Banshees of Inisherin is another frontrunner with 11 nods.

Alongside the nominations, the BAFTAs also revealed its dazzling host, who happens to be an award-winning actor. The only performer to be announced for the night so far is Mercury Prize winner and London-local Little Simz.

BAFTA film awards 2023 hosts 

Award-winning Swazi-English actor Richard E. Grant will assume hosting duties. He said: “I feel hugely privileged to be hosting the EE BAFTAs for the first time and the opportunity to celebrate the very best of the extraordinary range of this year’s films.”

Meanwhile, This Morning’s Allison Hammond has been confirmed to host the show in the backstage studio - expect exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes coverage. Film critic Ali Plumb and Radio 1’s Vick Hope will host the red carpet show.

How to watch the BAFTA film awards 2023 on TV

The BAFTAs 2023 will premiere on Sunday February 19 at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. It’s been confirmed the final four categories will be broadcast live so viewers at home can watch the action unfold in real time.
