Refurbished Indian restaurant in Rugby town centre wins award
A refurbished Indian restaurant in Rugby town centre has won an award.
Little India won the title of Best Restaurant for Warwickshire in the British Bangladeshi Business Awards.
The awards said the Castle Street restaurant “brings together the cozy comfort of classic favourites and the sophistication of a modern grill. Operated by veteran restaurateur Badrul Hussain, every dish delivers generous portions, fresh ingredients, and exceptional flavour.”
In a statement, the team said: “We are absolutely delighted and honoured to have won the award for Best Restaurant.

"This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support, loyalty and love from all our amazing customers. Every visit, every recommendation and every kind word means so much to us.
"As we celebrate this special milestone, we want to thank each and every one of you for being part of our journey. Your support over the years has helped make our restaurant what it is today, and we are truly grateful.
"Here’s to many more years of great food, wonderful memories and serving our amazing community.”
Dr Mish Rahman, head of Desh Foundation UK, which organised the BBBAs, said: “These awards aim to encourage enterprise, promote investment and build bridges between the UK and Bangladesh.”
Over 500 guests attended the glittering national awards ceremony at New Bingley Hall in Birmingham on October 25, returning for the first time since the covid pandemic and with Amnesty International as a charity partner.
Hosted by journalist and author Suzanne Virdee and attended by leading mayors and dignitaries from the region, it celebrated business achievements, top restaurants and community work of those connected to Bangladeshi communities across the UK.
