Alternative action at Myton Olympics

STAFF at Myton Hospice celebrated the Olympic Games by holding their own programme of alternative competitions.

The Alternative Games were organised by Sister Anne Bryan and took place at the Myton Lane site last week.

Teams from across the hospice aimed to emulate Team GB’s heroes by competing for medals in a series of events including hula hooping, walking backwards, a three-legged race and a wheel-chair relay.

Each event ended with a medal ceremony and tea and cakes in the hospice garden.

After five days of fun and fierce competition the nursing team finished top of the medals table and were awarded with a trophy for their efforts.

Sara Revell from Myton’s fundraising team said: “Congratulations to the nursing team and a big thank you to Anne for all her hard work and to everyone who took part.

“It was a great team building exercise and the patients enjoyed watching the events.”
