Body found on Kenilworth railway line

The body of a man was found on Kenilworth’s railway line in a suspected suicide on Tuesday afternoon.

Police and paramedics were called to the bridge off Warwick Road by the Jet garage at around 5.15pm following reports of a person having been hit by a train.

The death is not being treated as suspicious but the identity of the man has yet to be confirmed.

The British Transport police (BTP) were called to the scene by Kenilworth officers on October 21.

A BTP spokesman said: “The body of a man, who has yet to be formally identified, was located. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Officers are working to confirm the man’s identity and inform his family.

A file will now be prepared for the coroner. Anyone with information can contact BTP officers on 0800 405040.
