Catwalk success raises thousands

Hundreds of people were entertained and thousands of pounds were raised at an annual charity fashion show

This year’s Bodies & Co Charity Fashion Show saw almost 1,200 attend over two nights at the Spa Centre in Leamington.

A team of over 50 models aged from six to 77 performed classic catwalk routines and dance displays, sporting the latest fashions from some of the district’s best retailers.

The Bodies & Co show has been running for 35 years and this year The Poppy Appeal and Children’s Air Ambulance were the deserving beneficiaries, each receiving cheques for £6,000.

Organiser Jenni Fuller, from Bodies & Co said: “We are thrilled with the response we’ve had from loyal supporters of the show and it is always staggering to see show goers arriving early and queuing to get the best seats.

“It is immensely important to us that we raise as much money as we possibly can for our chosen charities and this year we have also set up links to charitable giving sites for the first time to encourage those who were unable to attend, to support us.

“The link for the Poppy Appeal is www.virginmoneygiving.com/BodiesandCo2 and the Children’s Air Ambulance is www.justgiving.com/BodiesandCo1.

“We are hoping that the £6,000 cheque we were able to give each night, is an initial amount that we can add to as final monies come in over the next couple of weeks”.

As well as benefiting charity, the show also offered a high profile plug to almost 30 fashion retailers across Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth who provided the clothing, shoes and lingerie that the models wore.
