Kind hearted volunteers hear Courier’s plea
Kind hearted souls have responded to a plea in the Courier from Lillington Youth Centre to complete its mural project.
The Plymouth Brethren Christian Centre organised and funded the hire of the scaffold tower so that they could finish the job, after a request was made in the paper.
The mural, painted by artist Sybil Roberson, is based on the history of the centre, which is celebrating its 50th birthday.
Hollie Hutchings of Lillington Youth Centre said:“The kind donation really spurred us on with the work and was such an uplifting and pleasant surprise.”
The youth centre will be having a weekend to celebrate its 50th anniversary either in September or October.
