Rugby quiz night raised thousands of pounds for cancer charities
A Rugby quiz night has raised more than £3,000 to help support cancer charities.
The organising team for the night met up with Ish Mistry and members of the committee of the Indian Community Centre in the town to thank them again for hosting the quiz in July and for their generous donation of £320 which, together with other donations received after the event, has taken the total raised to £3,060.
The funds have now been distributed equally to Prostate Cancer Research UK, Neuroendocrine Cancer UK and the Rugby Rokeby Lions.
Part of the money contributes towards providing PSA blood tests for men in the area.

Gill Nelson, secretary of the Lions club, said: “More than 200 men have booked appointments for a test on September 19.
"There’s still a few slots available.”

The event organisers have also thanked those who donated prizes for the raffle on the night and are now looking into holding another quiz next year.
