Tough games looming at Racing Club Warwick run is halted

The promoted Racers now face a testing run of games, starting with this Saturday away at fourth-placed Rushall Olympic.

They had won three and drawn one of their previous four games and joint boss Chris Knott said: “We can't lose sight that we had enjoyed a good spell unbeaten in the previous few games, but the last seven days have not seen the same feeling around the group.
“But the best thing in football is that we have to chance to bounce back again on Saturday ahead of a really tough run of games against three or four of the top six we are due to play.
“It will be a good challenge for us and we will see where we are at realistically afterwards following the recent positive run.”
Archie Hamp put Racers ahead on Tuesday before going off with a head injury as Redditch snatched a late win.
“We have got ourselves into a good position in the last two games and in the ascendency,” said Knott.
“We scored early on against Redditch and should have probably taken another chance or two, which would have been nice. Then they equalised and were on top for a while.
“Second half we got ourselves on top until Redditch had a moment and, credit to them, they took it.
“They have had one long, straight ball where they've brought it down, a little combination and they've got in behind us with a cross and a finish. It's really disappointing.
“We should have had at least a point, but that's football.
“Their manager agreed afterwards that they had probably got away with one, based on the territory and the performance we put in.”
On Hemp's injury, he added: “Archie is good. He had two stitches which I think will come out next week.
“He passed the concussion test at the time last night and left on his feet, going straight to hospital.
“We will just monitor him back in training. Realistically the earliest he will be back would be 7th November as we have to take precautions with a head injury.
“It's a shame as we were on top when he went off and he's been in great form.”
On Saturday's test, he said: “Rushall are a good, well-organised side. Manager Ian Long has been around for a long time and has a well-structured group.
“They are a good footballing side with lots of energy in there, so we will have to be at our best to get something.
“Apart from Archie I think we have a full group to pick from and the lads are ready to put it right after last night.
“We will go there trying to get at least a point if not all three. We have done all right away from home so far this year.”
The postponed Leighton Town trip will now take place on Tuesday, 24th November (7.45pm).
