Debt relief charity raises £9,000 to help continue life-changing work in Rugby

Fundraisers wore pants on their heads to deliver a serious message to the people of Rugby.

Staff and supporters from Rugby CAP Debt Centre took part in Debt Relief Day to raise awareness of free help available to people with money struggles.

The stunt raised £9,000 for the charity to continue its life-changing work.

Rugby CAP Debt Centre is run by the Revive Church Network in partnership with debt help charity, Christians Against Poverty (CAP).

Since 2009, the team has provided free face-to-face debt advice, money coaching, and emergency aid, such as energy top ups and food shops, to hundreds of local households in desperate need.

Karen Swaffield, Rugby Debt Centre Manager, said: “Our message is simple: some things are embarrassing, but getting help with debt isnt one of them.

Our services are completely free for anyone to use but that does mean we rely on donations to keep the service going.”
