Libby Mae's Little Angels, a charity that provides support to families who have babies in neonatal units in NHS facilities across the Midlands, were delighted to receive a donation of £10,000 from the Morrisons Foundation.

The support from the charitable arm of the supermarket will enable Libby Mae's Little Angels to help improve the Neonatal and Transitional Care Units at Warwick hospital to make them more homely and cheerful for families who are going through a tough neonatal journey.

The renovations, which include full redecoration, furniture, soft furnishings and door signs will significantly improve the neonatal and transitional care units for babies and their families. The resulting changes will make the facility more appealing for the professional nursing team who care for babies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.

Charlotte Sharratt, Co-Founder and Trustee of Libby Mae's Little Angels said: “We are delighted and honoured to have received a grant of £10,000 from The Morrisons Foundation to support a special project at Warwick Hospital. This funding will enable us to renovate the Transitional Care Unit and Neonatal side rooms, spaces that are currently very dated and clinical.

“Our vision is to transform these areas into more homely, welcoming environments where families can feel comforted and supported while spending precious time with their babies. Thanks to this generous grant, we can completely update the rooms and create a much nicer place for families to stay. A heartfelt thank you to Morrisons Foundation for helping us make such a meaningful difference.”

David Scott, Morrisons Foundation Trustee said: “Having a baby being cared for in the Neonatal Unit can be a stressful time for families and their loved ones. That’s why I’m very proud that the Morrisons Foundation has been able to support Libby Mae's Little Angels project to transform the care unit at Warwick Hospital. The results will have a great impact on the hospital, as well as the wellbeing and mental health of families and staff.”

The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarket in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects which help improve people’s lives. In the past 10 years the Foundation has donated over £46 million, supporting hundreds of charities across England, Scotland and Wales.
