Rail services in Rugby have been delayed this afternoon (April 23) after a person was hit by a train.

The fatality took place at Berkhamsted, causing issues between Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central.

Lines are blocked, causing cancelled or delayed Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway trains. Passengers are advised to check National Rail Enquiries as disruption is expected to continue.

"Trains between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central will be cancelled, revised or delayed until it is deemed safe for lines to reopen,” National Rail said in a statement.

“Disruption is expected to continue until the end of the day.”
