Warwick and Leamington charity theatre group to perform annual show this month
A Warwick and Leamington charitable organisation that brings people together to help members with learning disabilities and neurodiversity to try out new skills, share ideas, grow as performers and to celebrate success will put on its annual show at the end of this month.
Side by Side Theatre will be performing the show Masks Off at The Royal Spa Centre on Friday November 29.
The show is described as a joyful celebration of the lives of Side by Side’s neurodiverse community members, revealing their stories, fears and
dreams through drama, dance and song.

Masks Off was borne out of a series of drama-based workshops, which encouraged members to talk about themselves on a personal level, sparking conversations about their lives.
Members explored words such as love, fun and dreams and discussed their hobbies and regular activities, challenges they have faced, and their thoughts on the world around them.
These conversations inspired the foundation for this year’s show. Sian Hampton, Side by Side’s artistic director, said: “Our members have built this year’s show entirely about themselves.
"They are performing their past life experiences to the audience, and we see snippets of all their lives through the use of drama, dance and song. It truly has all been inspired by their unique and wonderful selves.
"I hope it has been a cathartic, enjoyable and creative experience for those involved, but I also hope that people coming to see the show feel touched somehow – and of course have a fantastic time.”
Side by Side patron Dave Willett added: “I’ve been really impressed by the members’ performing skills when watching the Masks Off rehearsals.
"I look forward to seeing them showcasing their talents and a year of hard work in what promises to be a great night out.
"Like with all Side by Side annual shows, it aims to be a unique experience and a real delight.”
Masks Off performances will take place from 3pm and 7.30pm at the Spa Centre on Friday November 29.
