Daly and Batchelor scoop top awards at presentation night

Liam Daly and Richard Batchelor picked up further accolades on Saturday night as Leamington FC brought the curtain down on their Southern Premier League title-winning campaign.

The standout performers from Paul Holleran’s promotion-winning side picked up two awards apiece at the presentation night at Leamington town hall, with Batchelor winning the Supporters’ Player of the Year Award and also getting the nod from the fans’ group, The Banter.

Daly, who was runner-up in the fans’ voting, claimed the Manager’s Player of the Year accolade and the Players’ Player trophy.

Stefan Moore, who only made his debut for the club on New Year’s Day, collected the goalscoring gong having scored 14 in a season that saw six other players reach double figures.

Clubman of the Year was presented to the matchday hospitality team of Dawn and Jason Johnston-Smith, while the Junior Clubman of the Year Award went to Harry Robbins.

Barry Reeve received the Don Hartwell Award from the Vice-Presidents’ Club, while The Banter awarded the Matt Blunt Trophy to coach Liam O’Neill and gave Lee Chilton the Goal of the Season Award for his strike at Bedworth United.

Jimmy Husband picked up a special award in recognition of his three promotions with the club.

 Brakes’ matchday programme was once again named among the best in the non-league at the Soccer Club Swap Shop Programme Awards.

It claimed the Southern Premier award for the third consecutive season and also finished in equal fourth place in the overall standings.
