Five star display as rampant Racing Club Warwick romp past Halesowen Town

Racing Club Warwick produced a sensational first-half performance at Townsend Meadow, scoring five goals before the break on their way to an emphatic 5-1 victory over Halesowen Town in the Southern League Premier Central on Tuesday night.

A remarkable hat-trick from Archie Hamp inside the opening 22 minutes set the tone for a memorable evening, before Miro Pais added a fourth from the penalty spot and Kai Williams completed the first-half scoring.

Despite a second-half response from the visitors, Warwick remained firmly in control, with goalkeeper Tom Allsopp producing a superb penalty save to ensure the Racers claimed all three points in front of 523 supporters.

Warwick could hardly have dreamed of a better start, taking the lead inside the opening minute.

Hamp was the man on target, setting the tone for what would become an extraordinary opening period.

The home side continued their blistering start and, just six minutes into the contest, Hamp struck again to double Warwick's advantage.

At 2-0 up with barely six minutes played, Warwick had completely taken control, leaving the visitors with a mountain to climb.

Halesowen struggled to contain the Racers' attacking threat, and things went from bad to worse for the visitors in the 22nd minute when Hamp completed a quickfire hat-trick.

And the Racers were not finished there.

Just two minutes later, Warwick were awarded a penalty, presenting the opportunity to extend their lead even further.

Miro Pais stepped up and calmly converted from the spot, making it 4-0 after just 24 minutes, completing an astonishing opening quarter of the match.

Warwick continued to threaten with Rhys Hilton going close from a free kick that flew narrowly wide.

At the other end, Halesowen began to create opportunities of their own, but Allsopp was in excellent form between the posts.

The Warwick keeper was called into action in the 38th minute, producing a good save to deny the visitors.

Just two minutes later, Allsopp was required again, this time making another important stop to deny Dan Meredith as Halesowen looked for a route back into the contest.

However, it was Warwick who would have the final say before the interval.

In the 43rd minute, Rhys Hilton produced a brilliant piece of attacking play down the right-hand side, driving forward before pulling the ball back into the path of Kai Williams.

The Warwick forward made no mistake, tapping home from close range to make it 5-0 and round off a breathtaking first-half display.

Halesowen made a change at the interval, introducing Lewis Ison in place of Rob Evans, and the substitute made an almost immediate impact.

In the 48th minute, Ben Cassidy delivered a cross into the Warwick penalty area, where Ison rose to direct a header into the bottom corner to reduce the deficit.

Warwick responded positively and continued to create opportunities.

Rhys Hilton and Hamp both tested Halesowen goalkeeper Dan Platt before the visitors were presented with a golden opportunity to further reduce the deficit.

Following a corner, the referee awarded Halesowen a penalty in the 58th minute.

Jason Cowley stepped up to take the spot kick, but Allsopp produced a superb save.

In the 74th minute, Allsopp was once again called into action, tipping a Cowley effort wide.

As the game entered its closing stages, the Racers continued to manage their comfortable advantage, with Halesowen unable to find another breakthrough.
