International call-up for 
in-form Perry

Perry celebrated her first senior call-up by retaining her British under-23 title at Hunts County Squash Club, Huntingdon.

Top-seed Perry beat Hannah Williams 11-3, 11-1, 11-6, Georgina Kennedy 11-1, 11-4, 11-8 and Nada El Kalaawy 12-10, 11-3, 11-4 to set up a repeat of last year’s final against fellow former European Junior champion Carrie Ramsey.

Perry raced to a 10-5 lead in the first and withstood a Ramsey fightback to win the game with a stunning high backhand cross-court flick that found the nick.

Ramsey hit a succession of shots out of court to give Perry an easy second before rallying to take the third.

However, Perry closed out the match 12-10, 11-3, 9-11, 11-6 to take the title.
