Artists set to capture Compton Verney in a day of open-air creativity

In 2025, over 70 artists braved the weather and produced a collection of wonderful artworks.

Warwickshire Open Studios will bring art to life in the glorious grounds of Compton Verney on Sunday 13 September, as artists gather for our Plein Air Event, that celebrates getting creative in the outdoors and the thrill of making work in the moment.

In 2025, over 70 artists braved the weather and produced a collection of wonderful artworks. Pieces included paintings, drawings, prints, textiles. We are expecting a similar number this Sunday and a much better forecast. Visitors to Compton Verney can wander around and discover how the art comes to life, talk to the artists and see what inspires them.

Whereas most Plein Air events tend to be restricted to paintings or drawings, we encourage artists to engage in their surroundings and produce a creative piece in response in any 2D or 3D art form. At the end of the day the artwork will be displayed in a pop-up exhibition in the exquisite  Adam Hall.
