Bus company hopes changes will bring a "significant improvement" for Rugby passengers

Changes have been introduced to bus services in Rugby this week in a bid to improve punctuality and serve more people.

Stagecoach’s Services 1 and 2 have revised routes and timetables, now additionally serving Chervil Way in Coton Meadows.

Service 2A will no longer run due to low passenger numbers and the ending of financial support.

Service 4 will have a revised frequency of every 20 minutes, Monday to Saturday in the daytime. Service 8B and Service 63 will both have timetables revised to improve punctuality, particularly in the mornings.

Service 64’s one journey will be incorporated into Service 63.

Mark Whitelocks, Managing Director of Stagecoach Midlands welcomes the improvements and said the bus is a great way for people to travel.

He said: "My team work very hard, every day to provide a reliable service, and we hope that these service updates will offer a significant improvement for our loyal customers in the region.

"It is important for such a dynamic and rapidly developing area that its bus services go where people want to travel and at times, they want to travel – and we hope that these updates will

achieve just that.

“The bus is a great value and convenient way to get around our region, so, with these improvements, maybe now is the time to leave the car at home and jump on board.”
