Plans for huge development could bring hundreds of jobs to Rugby borough
BARJANE has submitted a planning application for a 420,000 sq ft logistics scheme at the M6/M69 interchange at Ansty.
BARJANE has submitted proposals for a new employment development located at the intersection of Junction 2 of the M6 Motorway and the M69.
It is adjacent to the approved Frasers Group Campus and accessed by a proposed new roundabout.
The development has the backing of DHL Supply Chain Ltd to occupy the facility as a strategic new warehouse expansion. It is expected to generate a minimum of 425 full-time jobs, providing a significant source of employment for the local area alongside associated investment and supply-chain benefits.

The layout provides circa 420,000ft² GEA of modern Class B8 employment floorspace while limiting the building coverage to approximately 30.6%, significantly below the coverage commonly associated with logistics developments. The high-quality landscape led design enables approximately 5.25ha / 41% of the site to be provided as soft landscape, including planting, ecological habitats, sustainable drainage and amenity space.
The landscape strategy has also shaped both the layout and appearance of the development with a substantial landscape buffer incorporating planted bunds of up to 5.5m in height, together with native woodland totalling 565 new trees, understorey, hedgerow and grassland planting, providing a layered visual and acoustic screen between the site and surrounding areas which, along with exceptional sustainability measures, will deliver a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ development.
The building itself has been sensitively positioned with the principal operational area directed away from Ansty Village and facing the M69 motorway, while its low-pitched roof, neutral cladding, contrasting elevational treatments and stepped office elements reduce its apparent scale and create a contemporary and high-quality facility.
Collectively, the BREEAM Outstanding and EPC A+ targets, restrained building coverage, over 40% landscape allocation, bunding of up to 5.5m, integrated SuDS, rainwater harvesting, public rights of way enhancements, employee-amenity provision and future-proofed electric-vehicle infrastructure, demonstrate how the development will outperform planning requirements and deliver a market-leading, sustainable and highly efficient employment scheme.
