Motorists in Rugby face disruption as work on major junction improvement scheme takes place
Motorists in Rugby face disruption as work on a major junction improvement scheme takes place.
Work is due to start in Ashlawn Road on November 16.
Barby Road will be closed with no access from Ashlawn Road until June 2027.
Residents will still be able to access Rugby’s Hospital of St Cross, but they will need to use the Hillmorton Road end of Barby Road.

There will be a temporary 30mph speed limit in place along that stretch of Ashlawn Road to allow traffic to pass construction workers safely.
Motorists will be diverted via Barby and Hillmorton.
There will be no access to Barby Road from Ashlawn Road, so drivers face a lengthy diversion along Hillmorton Road.
The roadworks are for 'junction improvements to include new traffic signals and new right turn lanes from Ashlawn Road onto Barby Road and Onley Road'.
The works consist of widening the B4429 Ashlawn Road on the eastbound approach to the junction with Barby Road and Onley Lane, to create two lanes.
The junction will also be converted to a signalised junction, with new controlled crossings for pedestrians introduced. The scheme also involves installing new highway drainage, traffic signs, street lighting, kerbing, footway/cycleway and new road markings.
Existing cycleway provision will be enhanced. Resurfacing of the junction will also be carried out.
The scheme is being delivered for David Wilson Homes by Montel Civil Engineering.
Costs for the project are being met fully by the developers behind the 900 homes on Ashlawn Road.
