Dachshunds through the snow: "Experience a Winter Wonderland with your four legged friends at Coombe Abbey"
It’s not Christmas until we’ve experienced our annual magical light trail at Coombe Abbey.
Paws down, this year’s was the best Luminate yet because we could take our family’s pet pups.
Basset hounds Teddy and Molly had a great time taking in the pretty lights, sights and sounds and making lots of friends.
Once again, Coombe Abbey has been transformed into a Winter Wonderland that is sure to get you in the spirit of the season.

Set to ambient music, we enjoyed the interactive installations like beaming spotlights into the night sky and being greeted by a talking tree.
We loved the dancing fairies too and the little fairyland displays.
It was also fun taking part in ‘Make a Wish’ wall where you could write down your hopes for the New Year. The wall was full of people’s dreams; some asking for lottery wins, others just wanting peace.
If you visit, don’t forget to buy the huge marshmallows that you get to toast on the fire. It’s also good to have a warm up!
The trail creates a sensory journey, beautiful and atmospheric for all ages, but there is a bit of walking, so keep that in mind with elderly and much younger guests. Refreshments are available during the visit, even a bar if you fancy a ‘winter warmer’ before you take in the spectacle.
Luminate is great for families or as a romantic alternative ‘date-night’. Dog-friendly and sensory slots are available.
It costs £22.95 per adult and £15.95 for a child, but money-saving ‘combos’ are available.
Best to book now if you fancy it as the best time slots are selling out. Visit https://luminate.live/coombe-abbey
