Trick or treat? Rugby dad transforms garden into haunted graveyard for Halloween

Halloween-lovers in Rugby have been getting into the spooky spirit by transforming their homes and gardens with scary displays.

Families and businesses in the borough have pulled out all the stops this year, ready to welcome trick-or-treaters.

Rugby dad David Bingham has decorated his front garden with giant cobwebs and creepy skeletons crawling out of their graves.

He’s even made a pirate skeleton who is smile down as he hangs from the gallows in Rosewood Avenue.

David made a big impact in the community last year when he dressed as Art the Clown.

“People were commenting on our decorations for months,” David said.

"It’s great fun and the children love it.”

Other people have carved pumpkins and created ghosts and ghouls in time to mark Halloween on Saturday, October 31.

Bilton mum Charlie Clark has decorated her Freemantle Road property again this year to raise money for charity.

Money collected from this year’s display will go to the Our Jay Foundation. The charity was set up after Rugby teenager Jamie Rees collapsed and later died after having a cardiac arrest in 2022.

It raises money to place defibrillators around Warwickshire and beyond.

People are invited to take a look at her home and make a donation – however small – from 6pm tomorrow (October 31).

Remember, not everyone enjoys Halloween and trick or treating, so be respectful and mindful if you’re going out and about.
