Blinding role for Harry

An acting student from Leamington has been chosen to provide a voiceover for the cast of TV series Peaky Blinders.

The popular show is a historical drama set in post-WWI Birmingham, and the students were chosen to provide authentic Brummie voiceovers for the cast.

Harry Kinman, a Year 13 student at Birmingham Ormiston Academy, spent a day in a recording studio with two fellow pupils, whose voices will be used to provide Finn Shelby’s gang with realistic Birmingham voices in the new series.

Harry said: ““It was an honour to be invited down to London and provide voiceovers for such a well-known, popular series like Peaky Blinders.

“Not only was it a lot of fun, but it was a great experience to add to our portfolios, and it was really interesting to get an insight into the way recording studios and voiceovers work.”

Peaky Blinders, starring Cillian Murphy, is based on a late-19th century Birmingham criminal gang of the same name.

The series two finale airs on November 6, at 9pm on BBC Two.
