Four arrested after violent robbery in Warwick

Four people were arrested early on Wednesday morning after a man was assaulted and robbed in Emscote Road.

The incident happened at approximately 12.25am.

The victim suffered injuries to his head and eye and his Sony Ericsson mobile phone was found by police in a nearby garden.

The offenders ran off towards Leamington Way.

The 55-year-old from Oldham was taken to hospital where he was treated for a 5cm laceration to the back of his head and a 4cm laceration to his left eye.

A 28-year-old woman from Coventry, a 19-year-old woman from Warwick, A 17-year-old boy from Gloucester and a 16-year-old girl from Leamington were arrested at about 1am.

All four have been released on police bail to reappear at Leamington police station next month.
