The Aviary is now serving Monmouth coffee, high quality teas and a wide range of snacks, cold drinks and ice creams.

Cllr Sue Gallagher, Warwick District Council’s portfolio holder for culture, said: “The council is delighted at the prospect of The Larder expanding their local business to the Aviary. They have quickly developed a niche for themselves in Leamington and we hope that this new venture will follow suit and develop into a popular local amenity adding to the existing facilities in Jephson Gardens.”

Jane Berridge, who developed The Larder idea, said the cafe would be expanding very soon to include cakes, savouries and other delicacies fresh from The Larder kitchen which prides itself on offering only homemade foods.

Open from 8am during the week, and throughout the year, The Aviary is adopting the Larder’s simple honest approach to food and drink.

Jane said: “We have been thrilled by the reception we have received at The Larder, with so many loyal and friendly customers who have made our little cafe such a warm and inviting place to be.

“It was quite a challenging selection process to gain the lease for The Aviary and we are very grateful to Warwick District Council for giving us this opportunity to bring our offer to Jephson Gardens. I remember visiting The Aviary with my little boy several years ago, and whilst he was busy in the famous climbing tree outside, I dreamt of how The Aviary could be developed. It seems unbelievable that now we can do just that.”

Plans are already afoot to develop the The Aviary to be a meeting place for community groups, tai-chi in the park and events throughout the winter months.

The team would be pleased to discuss any further ideas people may have.
