Happy to represent people’s interests

As a town councillor and neighbour of the Racecourse, I read Mr Walker’s letter (Postbag last week) with great interest.

I think his suggestion of returning to the days of having a local councillor on the board is a fascinating one, and one I would happily endorse. I would suggest that our district councillors may well have a conflict of interest as they would find themselves as both landlord and tenant, and so I would suggest that a town councillor fulfil this role.

I can assure Mr Walker that as a busy mother of two young children I have no interest in free tickets on race days, but would be more than happy to represent the interests of Warwick people at the Racecourse. Of course, it is entirely up to the Racecourse to appoint people to its board. - Cllr Rebecca Clarke.
