We should be free to express views

I gather our national politicians have made it illegal to object on moral or religious grounds to establishments like Shades.

Next year will they forbid social or parental grounds or any other grounds they can think of? Who are they to choose the grounds? Are they not getting above themselves?

All of us should be free to object to anything we please on any grounds we please, foolish or intelligent, pleasant or unpleasant, relevant or irrelevant, popular or unpopular. We should always be free to express our views, in the pub, in the council chamber.

Otherwise the attenuation of freedom, already well advanced under the bullying banner of political correctness, will bring us down to the level of the tyrannies of Iran, China, Zimbabwe, Putin’s Russia and half of the so-called United Nations.
