Harry Potter star David Bradley releases charity single in memory of Warwick schoolgirl

A singer-songwriter has teamed up with celebrated actor David Bradley to release a charity single dedicated to the memory of Warwick school girl Annabel Greenhalgh.

Short and Sweet is one of ten songs on Keeping it Short and Sweet, the forthcoming album by Bishop Tachbrook artist Amelia Fewtrill Webster’s band And the Sunset.

The album launches on Saturday September 26, with donations from downloads going to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH).

The album launch event will take place at Birmingham’s Mockingbird Cinema and will feature a special afternoon with David Bradley.

David, who lives in Leamington, will discuss his career, including his roles in Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Hot Fuzz, After Life, Broadchurch, Doctor Who and the recently Oscar-nominated Frankenstein.

The event will also feature the premiere of the “Short and Sweet” music video, followed by a live performance from Amelia and David. Signed CDs and vinyls will also be available for purchase, with all profits from the event going to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Amelia said: "This heartwarming love song, Short and Sweet, was inspired by the simplicity of real love and is dedicated to Annabel, whose young life was tragically cut short at the age of 11.

“Annabel’s parents chose BCH as the charity dedicated to her memory and so I felt creating theatre and music was the best way to use my skills to help keep her memory alive and raise funds.”

Amelia founded Raise the Roof, a community theatre company set up in Annabel’s memory, with David later becoming a patron.

The project has provided performing arts opportunities for young people in Warwickshire and raised more than £20,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital over three years.

Amelia added: “To have an amazing legend of the small and big screen sing my song is both an honour and a privilege, and I can’t wait for people to hear it.

"I really believe this beautiful song, tenderly sung by David, will help our cause to raise even more money in memory of a young girl who loved to sing, act and dance.”

The launch event begins at 3.30pm, with tickets priced at £22 and available now from www.mockingbirdcinema.com
