Kenilworth Mayor is self-isolating after testing positive for Covid-19

Cllr Dickson had already undergone two lateral flow tests for those without symptoms in late December which had come back with negative results.

But, having come into contact with a family member who unknowingly had the virus on Christmas Day and tested positive on Deecember 28, the mayor then took another test after he had developed symptoms which are a headache and sore throat.

Cllr Dickson has said: "I've been advised this morning that the PCR result was positive which means that - like many other people in Kenilworth have had to do in the past nine months - I need to self-isolate.

"In my case it will be for a further period of 10 days as of yesterday.

"My wife Kate also has to self-isolate although she did not take the test and is not showing any symptoms.

"I'm not aware of any external Mayoral engagements in the next 10 days and I shall do my best to take part in online commitments in the meantime."
